It was only when he consulted a Gonstead chiropractor that he experienced true relief and recovery, with his condition effectively resolved. This pivotal moment not only restored his quality of life but also ignited a deep appreciation for the efficacy of Chiropractic care.
Motivated by this life-changing outcome, Dr. Jarrett committed himself to pursuing a career in Chiropractic with the mission of helping others, using the same principles and techniques that had such a profound impact on his own life. Q&A With Dr. Jarrett
What makes your chiropractic care different from others?
By utilising the Gonstead system of Chiropractic, every adjustment I deliver is done with intent, precision and specificity as compared to general manipulation of the spine. The Gonstead system has a step-by-step methodology that is enacted upon every patient, even with the most challenging of cases.
This ensures that every patient is thoroughly assessed to the nth detail and that their treatment is specific to their needs; resulting in the best results over the shortest amount of time possible.
What inspired you to become a chiropractor?
My inspiration stemmed from experiencing what Chiropractic can do firsthand and seeing the power it has to positively turn around even the most acute of cases. For a number of years, I had suffered from intermittent sharp pain in my mid-back as a teenager. This affected my ability to play sports, sleep, stand for periods of time and my overall quality of life as I was always in a state of discomfort from the pain.
I was then referred to a Gonstead chiropractor after trying many avenues of care, including consults with an orthopaedic. I recall him setting me up on the Knee-Chest table and after a quick and specific thrust into my mid back, I was pain-free. This was when I discovered my calling to be a Chiropractor as I knew I would be able to help tonnes of people in pain.
What is your treatment philosophy?
“Find it, fix it and leave it alone” is the fundamental principle in Gonstead Chiropractic and is how I approach every patient. I am interested in finding the root cause of a problem and by removing it or fixing it, the body is intelligent enough in doing the rest. Hence, we leave it alone and give you time to heal. This is why we take it visit by visit and not sway you into treatment packages and plans as everyone recovers at a different rate and everyone’s problem is different.
Can Chiropractic help with headaches, migraines and vertigo?
Yes absolutely. After low back pain and sciatica, headaches are the most common condition that we treat, this includes vertigo. More often than not, patients with headaches and vertigo have a bone that is not set right in their neck or mid back due to sustained damage in their life. This puts pressure on the nerves around that bone and thus causes nasty symptoms. Our job is to find that bone and set it back to where it needs to be – removing the pressure on the surrounding nerves.
Are chiropractic adjustments dangerous and is it normal to feel sore after? There is no risk in a Gonstead adjustment as all Gonstead adjustments have ZERO rotation. Risk is only present when rotation is involved and so Gonstead adjustments are entirely safe. It is normal to feel sore after an adjustment as the surrounding tissues now have to heal and stabilise the newly set bone. Icing and walking are the best ways to encourage recovery and reduce soreness after an adjustment.

True Healing Starts At The Source
Dr. Jarrett is self motivated and driven, where his continuous learning is evident in the multiple seminars that he attends annually, along with close mentorship and workshops from some of the best Gonstead chiropractors in the industry - his care for his patients remains current and meticulous. His philosophy with chiropractic is firm in finding the root cause of a patient’s problem, though it may present in a number of ways as symptoms, and in adjusting only that found problem. This is the best and quickest way to get a patient well and out of the practice faster where they can then go and enjoy life pain-free. This approach to patient care addresses the underlying cause of a condition, rather than merely managing a patient's symptoms.
